More patterned paper and pastel pencils. Playing with the air today... and the Santa Ana winds have finally calmed down here too! I wasn't really feeling the "do a self-portrait" today thing, but I gently nudged myself to just start playing, and it came around. It was quick and breezy and not my best, but I did one 🤣
Looking at this quickly sketched drawing, it feels a little see-through and ghostly... obviously other worlds are talking to me 😉 or I'm just becoming more transparent 🤣 This daily self-portrait "challenge" is helping me make both me and my art a priority, as well as just being a way to change up the daily energy in my life. I'm letting the "winds of change" have their way with me.
"It's said that when we die, the four elements - earth, air, fire and water - dissolve one by one, each into the other, and finally just dissolve into space. But while we're living, we share the energy that makes everything, from a blade of grass to an elephant, grow and live and then inevitably wear out and die. This energy, this life force, creates the whole world." —Pema Chodron
