Day 6: 30 Days of Self Portraits

Big Bold Color.

There are a lot of different reasons why doing this "challenge" was a good choice. It's forcing me to draw something each day. It's forcing me to look at myself in new and interesting ways. It's forcing me to get OUT of old views of myself, and not just my physical face. It's helping me really actually start a blog, which I've never been able to start or keep up, even though some part of me wanted to... I needed a reason, a motivation, to not only start one but continue one. Also, I'm putting something out there publicly each day that I hope will inspire someone else! So, all that being said, I hope that me taking a look at myself though self-portraiture will inspire you in some way, somehow, with looking at yourself and your own life 🌟

I decided to do a profile view today... not my favorite view of my face, but I'm liking it more now. This project is about exploring, accepting, and loving ALL of me, in all my ways. I'm only on day 6 here, and I can already see some new ways to explore using MY face instead of always some magazine woman for my feminine art images. It's amazing what society does to us women to make us feel so not good enough, not perfect enough, not pretty enough, or even just "ok" for Chri*st's sake... and I've been a direct part of this... Photoshopping images of people and things for products/companies for years!

Today I decided a graphical bold color approach felt right... and with the only markers I have... cheap-o Crayola ones. Big, bold areas of color, and some tropical plants. I get to be the bird of paradise now 🤣

Here's some Jazzy Charlie Parker to add to the experience...

Some history on Chiron.

#Chiron is a bold sacred warrior. It takes 51 years to move through the entire zodiac. The last time Chiron spent time in Aries was from 1968 to 1977, and by the time of its discovery in November of 1977 it had already entered Taurus. THIS transit of Chiron, right now, is the first time in human history that we are AWARE of Chiron's existence and impact. Because of Chiron's irregular orbit, it stays the longest in the signs of Pisces (the ending of a cycle) and Aries (the beginning of a cycle) Chiron is the link between the unconscious (Pisces, the unseen) and the conscious (Aries, the seen). Being fully conscious of what was formerly hidden gives you a clarity that can set you free.❤️
